I am trying to install win xp professional on my serial
ata raid hard disk setup, and although I have formated
the raid disks and bios is happy, win xp doesnt seem to
recognise the raid array, I have tried using the F6
function during installataion and have installed the
drivers that came with the motherboard, but this makes no
difference. Please help.

My motherboard is a ASUS PC-DL Deluxe, dual Zeon.
Thanks

Joe

Booting from the Different Modes of Serial ATA
Ultimately the ability to boot from a Serial ATA controller is dependent upon the abilities of the Serial ATA controller and BIOS. Windows has no limitations for booting from Serial ATA storage devices outside of driver availability.

What you do need to ensure is that the SATA driver floppy disk that you create reflects the ATA configuration in BIOS. ie Do not use the BASIC SATA driver if your BIOS has RAID: and also make sure that you use the correct RAID drivers.

Read the user manual very carefully, create a new driver floppy disk and try again when prompted to press F6.

Good luck
