I have java runtime environment SEv.1.4.2_01...SEv.1.4.2_03 &sEv1.4.2_04 do I need all of them?

Nope, J2SE v 1.4.2_05 is the latest version though. If you installed
these over the top of each other, it has just updated. If you have
these saved on your harddrive, I would delete them all and download this
one:

Hi nathan thank you for the quick reply....I had each version of java and each one was using up space..
