Where is my UK 'pound' sign?

I plug my Microsoft Internet Keyboard into a computer
running XP professional (here in the UK) and despite
changing all the language and region options, the
keyboard does not allow the UK pound sign even though it
is stamped above the 3 on the actual key (it prints a #
on screen instead). Also I get the '@' symbol is where
the keys say the " is.

How can I get the layout that is actually printed on the
keys of my keyboard?

Have you downloaded and installed the IntelliType software
for that model and set the region options or are you
depending on the built-in keyboard drivers?

I'm afraid you are still using the US Keyboard condiguration. You need to
go back to Control Panel and reconfigure for the UK Keyboard. I found
deleting all keyboards except the UK keyboard was the only way to ensure the
correct configuration. When changing the keyboard in "Languages and
Regions" you are going to Languages->Details to change the keyboard settings
are you?

Thanks Edward - Although I had been changing the language
settings, I had not gone into 'Text services and input
language'. It now works a treat.
