I purchased a new e-Machine CPU and had my hard drive
from my previous CPU installed as a slave drive. I cannot
access My Documents and Settings folder to transfer data
to the new hard drive. When I click on my user folder
under Documents and settings I get a message that access
is denied. The Comp USA dealer advised me a patch from
Microsoft is required to allow access to the old hardrive
documents and settings folder when an existing hardrive
is added to a new CPU. I cannot find that patch or any
other solution from the Microsoft online support site.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem? Thanks

George;
There is no patch.
Apparently the Comp USA knows little to nothing about windows XP.
