We just had a power outage that lasted about a hour, first the lights dimmed then 45 seconds later we hear a loud pop and the lights go out, turns out a tree up the street from our office fell on the power line and blew a transformer. They got the power back up but the tree is still on the power lines so I bet it could go out again when they cut the tree down...

Stupid wind!!!

What a day so far, now what was I working on... hmm? I froget. haha

Go out and lift the tree away, you'll be safe as wood wont conduct. To be sure make sure you have wet bare feet. :twisted:

Wait. This is important for me to understand your dire circumstances.

Clarify:

Office = Bar
or
Office = Work?

If Office = Bar + No Power = Warm Beer, you have a problem.

If Office = Work + No Power = Still getting paid to redo what you already did once.. I'm not seeing a problem?

haha ok, I'm sure the 15 cops that are right there won't stop me.

It's ok.. According to qoop, today is supposed to be a depressing day.

I guess it is for you now too.

Important update to plan. Strip cops of footware and have them form a chain from the power line to the ground, this will re route the power away from the tree which will now be safe for you to move.

It just goes to show how much I'm loved around here that this is the first I've heard of it :P

Need to know basis. Hey, if something goes wrong, it's not your headache. That's how I look at it with my current job. They do things, don't tell me, problems pop up. I refer them to the people who installed it since no one told me about it.

I still get paid :)

Ha, I can see the day where things go horribly wrong and I protest it's not my problem... I get into trouble for just getting up in the morning :wink:

And they still pay you. You're not complaining at you? :D

I don't get in trouble, I just get ignored around here. One person came into my office today to ask about the curling league. Other than that, no one even knows I'm here.

Every 2 weeks a bunch of numbers magically pop into my bank account. I've talked to a few people on the phone today though.. no one within 500 miles of me though.

Sounds like the life alright.

Did I mention I just got a 10% pay increase and a 15% of my salary cash bonus?

No? Oh, I did.

Plus, I'm going to Panama City, FL for work during spring break. All expenses paid - car, hotel, flight, and $120 in food/beverages a day. I can afford to swing a little cash to buy some drinks.

Ahh.. the life indeed.

What part of town is the office in? One of these days I want to be invited to come and say hello.

Nownow, don't impose. Instead of a Hello you might get a Hell'no.

As located several hours LA driving time from any airport.

And web design issues seem to have developed a special place in my heart of late....
