Every time i switch my windows 98 pc on,the
message "insert bootable media in appropriate drive "
appears and i have no idea what that means !!

Have a look at the name of this newsgroup. It says
"WindowsXP". Now have a look at your post. It
says "Windows 98". Time to ponder . . .

Under the boot order, make sure the CD-ROM is first, then the HDD, and
lastly the floppy.
