If i upgrade to windows 7 what is the default email

The basic Win7 Email client is Windows Live Mail 2011 and is actually quite good. Email, Calendar, Contact List (address book), Newsgroups and News Feeds.
It's not too different from Vista's email client.

Besides Live Mail there are other handy programs in Windows Live Essentials
You could install just the ones you're interested in.

If you don't have a favorite security suite there is also the free edition of Microsoft Security Essentials
