Format entire HD

Ok,

I have recently attained a computer from an office. I
have absolutely no interest in anything that is on the
comp, and I want a fresh start. The ideal thing is to
just format the HD and forget about it, so I tried to do
so. I was told by a tech guy to insert the Win XP Pro
disk and click a new install and I will eventually come
to a part where it will ask me what parts of the hard
drive I want to format. Fine, this all worked up untill I
tried to delete one of the partions (there are two /C:
& /D:, and also some unallocated space) it always allows
me to delete one, but not the other (C:). It says
somthing about system info being oin the is partition so
I cannot delete. So now I have 2 Win XP Pro runnning on
my comp and I have a choice between the 2 I want to run
when the comp starts. I looked at the hardware manager
and it says that on of the partitions is a system
partition and the other is a boot partion (they are both
NTFS). All I want to do is have ONE partition that has a
freshly installed Win XP Pro on it. If someone can help
me I would really appreciae it!

Thanks!
Bane
