VGA Increased from 8 MB to 32 MB after instaling new drivers

hi

i have intel piii system. i have used almost all the windows and installed
the drivers taht came with my mother board and when i looked at its vga size
it was 4 mb... but now after installing new drivers i found its size to be
32 mb ..... whats that means ??? i have even formatted the drive and
downloaded the drivers and installed but still i found its vga 32 mb ???
probably my ram is shared ??? how can i tell that htis is true ??? and if
it is true then can i controle the size of the vga ( not found any where in
winxp and bios ) ..... thnaks in advance

The amount of RAM allocated to the built in video adapter is controlled
through the computer bios. You must change the setting there, but the more
you use, the better your system will perform - assuming you have sufficient
RAM installed in the first place.

dear my mother board type or (better model ) is D815EEA and in its
specifications thers is something else if u check the kingston site and look
for the memory updates for this sysstem u would be told that the system
supports a maximum of 4mb vga but what this 32 mb ??

Here is some info on your board:

I have looked over almost everything and can't find anything about 32 MB
of video memory. Are you actually using the onboard video card? The
amount of System RAM does not matter. The amount of video RAM is what
you are talking about here. I didn't see anything that allowed you to
use the System memory as shared memory.

i have done nothing to my system but after installing the latest graphics
drivers i came up with this 32 mb ov video memory . DirecTX tells me that i
have 32 mb of video memory......... i am giving u some infromation from the
windows task manager hope that will make it easy ??

Most likely you now have 32 MB available should it be
needed, Most of the time you'll be using 2-8 MB.
