I have a BenQ CB482B combo drive (CDRW-DVD). I cannot burn CDRWs greater
than 4x. I have tried different makes of Cdrws(some upto 12x) but the
problem remains. I have Nero 6 and I have updated the combo drivers.

Hmm, this is the latest firmware:

You said you updated the drive, but I wasn't sure if that is what you
were talking about.

Have you tried setting the burn speed to faster with the higher speed
CDRW's? Make sure your drive is operating in DMA Mode (you can check
with NeroInfoTool). Can you burn CD's at 52x still?
