Upgrade Bios to allow latest cpu?

Sometimes there is a little supplemental info on this site,
for the A7V family of motherboards. For example, for some of
the Asus motherboards, there are warnings about certain flash
upgrading problems, and you should check the Asus download page,
or in your case, this site as well:

The cpusupport web page has info on officially supported upgrades:

Notice how, if you search on A7V133, it mentions the revision
number printed on the motherboard, must be "1.05." with a
trailing dot, for your suggested upgrade to work.

I tried a search in Google on the two terms (including the
double quotes in the search dialog box):

"no trailing dot" 1.05

and got this post. So, unofficially it is possible for other
versions of the motherboard to be used. Some more Googling
might uncover info on other motherboard versions.

For some reason, Asus produced one motherboard with a
revision number of "1.05" and a later one as "1.05." .
I don't think this was a common practice for them, and
most other motherboards will use a simple incrementing
number scheme, to document copper board revision.
