My wireless multimedia keyboard transposes the @ (at) key with the "(double quote key) and also prints a UK pound sign £ instead of the hash sign. Help. What have I done wrong,or is it a hardware fault?

Go to 'Regional and Language' in Control Panel, click on the 'Languages' tab
and then click the 'details' button.. add the language for the keyboard you
are currently using and make it the default... click ok or whatever to exit
the utility.. reboot the machine.. if the wrong language is still being
used, go back to 'R &L' and remove the language that you don't want to use..
reboot the machine..
