I have iPAQ3630, 2002. Since yesterday, ActiveSync is droping the connection
shortly after I connect PPC and PC. I don't remember making any changes in
neither PPC nor PC. Today I tried hard reset in PPC and uninstalling and
reinstalling ActiveSync, even System Restore (I have XP in PC). Does anybody
know why this is happening? What is the solution?
Thanks

was it working fine earlier ? do you recall installing or
updating any of your antivirus software / firewall ? try
to remove other usb devices if you have them connected.
also try to remove all options in the sync options in
activesync and see if it maintains connection.. if yes
then try enabling items in options one at a time.
Try to see if your device works fine with any other comp
if possible.
if this fails try using a powered USB hub just to check
if it maintains connection

Thanks for your reply. In my previous posting, I didn't mentione that I use
USB cable to connect PPC and PC. Still, you were talking about USB, so
everything is just fine. I have to tell you that I did try what you are
suggesting - removing the sync option for everything, only to have PPC and
PC conected, without syncing. They connect, but after a while, the
connection drops again. I didn't make any changes neither on Windows (I did
all security updates much earlier than the problems with ActiveSync started)
nor in my Norton (Internet Security with Antivirus). I have no other USB
devices in this computer. Everything was just fine until yesterday. Also, I
do not use a lot of other software besides the ones already installed (Media
Player, Reader and Messenger I had to install separatly in memory because of
the upgrade doesn't fit all in ROM). All I have there was working until
yesterday and I simply don't remember changing anything.
Anyway, thanks for your reply.
