Im not sure of the exact dates but Doom is coming out near the end of august and half life 2 sometime in september(in the U.S.) There is still a chance that the games will be released later to avoid the end of summer sales slump.

There's been a ton of discussion about this. The dates are correct as far as anyone can tell.

Dont fall out of your chair if they're pushed back though.

Screw that program man! They have been procastinating the release date of that damned program for years now. All vendors and resellers just need to take back all preorders, ads, and just forget about it. Never have I seen such procastinating over some precious engine that they are trying to sell.

When it finally comes out, not only will it be every so primative to other crap out there but we all will be wilted and old to even look at an monitor. Im just surprised that the poor saps that did those preorders havent seeked some kind of legal action or boycott. That could have gas money that they blew over an year ago with the only thing they get back "Im sorry, we have found another insignificant glitch in the program and will have to delay release another month!"

My message to ID: WHO FRICKING CARES ABOUT LITTLE GLITCHES!!!! If youve been using windows, then you are more than accustomed to minor glitches that patches can fix. NO SUCH THING AS THE PERFECT SOFTWARE AS MICROSOFT HAS REPEATEDLY DEMOSTRATED FOR DECADES NOW!!!!!!!!!

Actually the current release date is August 3, but don't put your stock in it; it wasn't officially announced, but all sources are pointing to it. A promotional voucher for software stores showed up on a forum recently, and it said that the game was indeed coming out on the 3rd, but I never looked into it to see if it was a hoax; at the time, noone was able to disprove that it was legit. They DID officially announce that there was going to be a Doom 3 multiplayer tournament at this year's QuakeCon, starting August 12 I believe. I figure that they won't let the public play it unless they're actually finished with it, so I'm counting on the current release date. Anyway, they said in the past that it's basically finished and that they were going to shoot for a late summer release.
