Have a good question for this board. I
am trying to get the system to boot on
my cdrom drive. When I first boot up it
says "please wait for IDE scan and then
it finds my cdrom. I have my cdrom as
master on the second IDE cable by
itself. I have two hard drives on the
first IDE cable. When I go into setup it
doesnt list my cdrom drive anywhere so
cant set it up as a boot device. I
switched one hard drive with the cdrom
and then it told me the hard drive and
cdrom are on number 3 in setup but still
couldnt select it as a boot drive. I
hope you all follow this and can help.
Thanks.

yeah I went through a similar deal recently. Read your manual CLOSELY. You
can NOT see the second IDE drive until you install the drivers on the
cdrom disk included with the mb. What I did was install boot disk and dvd
drive on PRI_IDE1 and my second disk on PRI_PCIIDE1.

Now to see the drive on the second cable(PRI_PCIIDE1)...you have to
install the driver during windows install...hit F6 I think it is...or you
can go ahead and install windows...then add the driver after
install...then you can see the drive.

Hope that helps.

I finally got it ok. I put my cd drive
as slave on number one and my second
hard drive on number two and seems to
work ok now. I can boot from cd, hd, or
floppy. thanks for the help.
