I am using P4P800 SE on P4 3.0E CPU, WinXP Pro SP2, 2 512MB DDR400 RAM
in dual Channel.
Whenever I have a hard powerdown ( hold and depress power button for >
6 sec),it report a overclock failure on reboot even BIOS (Ver 1007)is
set without overclock. No problem with window shutdown and reboot.
BIOS Ver 1007 is the latest release. Howevr there is a Ver. 1008-004
Beta version.
I am tempted to try out this Beta ver to see whether it will solve the
problem.
Anyone tried it out and what is the different between 1007 & 1008
Beta?
TIA

If you read the FAQ for the board you will find that a problem with a
large Hitachi or Maxtor HDD that couldn't be detected properly. Apart
from that nothing (as usual) is known about the beta BIOS.
Why not try the new BIOS out? You can always go back to the 1007 if it
doesn't work. Flashing a newer BIOS with an older one can't be
accomplished with the windows tool though! This has to be done using
good old DOS :)
