Where is network printer?

How do I find out the network location of a printer that is installed on my computer?
I would like to install it on a different computer, but am having trouble finding it on the office network. I don't think it is a local printer, since it is installed on several other computers.

If it's a true network printer, then it is not physicall attached to
ANY computer. It get's its data from a network cable, just like your
computer does.

The server that controls it may be literally miles away, in a
completely different building.

Before anybody cries foul, I did mean MILES. I have operated in an
environment where the server that controlled our network printers was
over three miles away. The printers worked just fine.

If you only need the network location of the printer go to the properties
page for the printer (On your computer), then select ports. This will give
you the network location for the printer, then set the printer up on the
other computer using the same settings. Make sure the new computer has
network access. That should take care of the problem

Dear Darryl,
Thanks for your help. I had already tried what you said, and got the IP address (it's a standard TCP/IP Port). But the Add Printer Wizard can't seem to connect. I choose "network printer" in the first window, and then type in the IP address in the second window. (I've tried both "connect to this printer" and connect to a printer on the internet or on a home or office network). But then I get an error message saying that Windows cannot connect to the printer. This even happens when I try it on my computer, which has this printer installed.

What I normally do is set up the printer to the local LPT1 port. After
the printer is installed I go into the printer's properties and go to
the Ports tab. I then add a port pointing to the IP address of the
printer and change the printer to that port. You should then test it by
printing the test page.

Try this..

When you go into the add printer wizard.. don't select network printer.
Instead use local attached printer option. When the window opens to select
printer port create a new port, standard TCP/IP port. Then follow the
prompts from there entering the ip address, printer type etc.,etc This
should take care of you
