I had been signed up to get Winfire DSL since November and now (after waiting 4 mo) they've shut down. :(
My friend works in the industry and says cable is better because DSL uses cat3 wire.
Anyway I am now signing up for AT&T Roadrunner broadband cable (up to:1500/300).
They say I need a "Working Ethernet card with RJ45 connector; or open slot and free compatible IRQ; or USB port" and can use 3COM Etherlink III or DaynaPort EPCI.

Will an Ethernet card be faster then my USB port?
If so, what card should I buy?

Thanks in advance!!

Stay away from USB, get a real network card. There is very little difference in cards so about any will work fine. You should be able to find a card for under $25.
