Adobe Flash Player Problem

Ok, so my girlfriend ended up with one of those antivirus programs that is actually a virus, I think it was called virus8, anyway I got rid of it using malwarebytes. So now the problem is that adobe flash is not working. I went into add remove programs and uninstalled all adobe programs, then tried to reinstall flash player. So it seems to have installed okay, and shows up in add remove programs, but does not show up in IE addons, and flash content does still not work. I am on Windows 7, and using IE8, any help would be appreciated. Oh and I have tried reseting IE advanced settings, and using the standalone installer and uninstaller provided by adobe.

try firefox or the new opera and install the flashplayer for those browsers!
