Hello Bonnie

Here is a kit that you can order and have a friend of your
removed the drive and connect to the kit below, that way you
will be able to get your data back. Of course their is more
work involed here but you will get your data back. I currently
own one of those kits and works great for users with laptops

of this caddy? I have a hp pavilion desktop running
win98se, but I don't know how to go about using it to make
a boot disk or whatever for my xp. I did get a c prompt at
one time, but then it disappeared when I turned off the
laptop. Is the info there on how to use this caddy, and as
I stated, my laptop came with xp home ed installed, so I
didn't get an xp cd-rom, only the recovery disks. I made a
set of xp boot disks from the ms site, but then in one
section it said to remove all files from#1 disk and
replace with certain files from the xp disk--if I had that
I would not need the boot disks--would I?? I do appreciate
the time you took out for me---God Bless you and yours.

Wanted to tell you guys that when I said I could access
the c and a at bootup--I wish to correct that---after the
message press H to retry or any key to try another--then
this is where I can use the cd-rom [if I had a winxp disk
which I do not] I could use it---only furnished me with
the recovery disks--3 of those. I'll try most anything
right now, as I have to have surgery on my foot Friday,
and I will be unable to sit at the desk w/ the desktop.
I read how to create an xp boot disk from an xp based
machine, but I, nr does anyone close to me, have a winxp
machine. I have instructions to copy certain files onto a
floppy from the hd--or winxp cd-rom, but neither can I do
