Having a dinosaur canon BJC600 and haven't used it in 18mths (was
overseas at the time), the NEW ink cart will not print on standard
paper now.

How could i get this ink to come-out so to speak? Yes there is black
ink in the cart but no colour (only want to print in black and have
done it before). I have already reset the printer (plug power in and
hold down power button simul').

Some help kindly asking?

Hi.

This is a new ink cartridge therefore it has ink in it. Brand new.
I did an ink cart syst clean three times on the black but no results
to print. usually that gets the ink running, not this time.

Another suggestion perhaps?
Thank you.

If you are positive the cartridge is installed correctly, since it is
new it should print fine off the bat. Did you remove it and check to
see if there was tape or anything else that would not let it seat
properly?

thats probably about all anyone could suggest. If its no go, I would
see about returning the cartridge but you still do not know if it is
a faulty cartridge or the printer itsself.

Either way, see if you can get your money back and perhaps get a new
economical printer for a little more of what the cartridge costs...In
the long run, that would be more efficient especially with dirt cheap
refill options on the canon I series
