Hello Group,

I'm ready to build my first AMD64 system using an A8V Deluxe rev 2.00 MB.
When I hook up the WD-Raptor SATA HD (single drive no raid) which sata port
should I use? The VIA sata or the PROMISE sata. After booting up with WinXP
SP-2 CD-rom, I understand to hit F6 to load the sata drivers which I already
made off the Asus CD-rom the VIA floppy disk and also the Promise disk. Is
this a either or thing or can the system benefit from each choice?

Thanks,
Art C.

Hi, if you are not overclocking use the Via sata, however if you do
overclock then use the Promise....

VIA SATA is recommended for single HD's because it is more independent of
FSB on overclocking case.
When pressing F6, the SATA drivers should be on the FD.
No alternatives.
