Hello, All!

Is there a way to tell if a board is a Rev 2 before buying and seeing it,
short of asking the seller?

Thanks.

Blip, IIRC, the Revision #2 motherboard boxes are different. The newer
ones are a white box with a giant "Ai series" in silver on the front with
the term "A8V Deluxe" in green. I don't know what the first revision boxes
look like.

Of course, the motherboard is silk screened with the term "rev.2" along
with "A8V" above the bottom-most PCI slot.

Also, you can see the serial number and part number on the box, and you
could ask Asus how to know if the number is for a revision #2 by asking
where the line of numerical demarcation is.

Thanks. Since this will likely be an online purchase I will make it a point
to TRY to get an answer from them before buying. Not sure the box will help
since they can put anything in a picture <g>.

Well, you probably will get a Revision 2 board. Where are you shopping?

You may want to look on the private forums. I thought the
difference between rev1 and rev2, is one of them had a
wireless g card bundled. You can see that Newegg sells
the non-wireless A8V new, and both wireless and non-wireless
as refurbs. That makes me think the non-wireless is rev2,
but you'd better verify that somewhere before you buy.
In the marketplace, chances are the rev1 is the cheaper
board, as the vendors try to get rid of them.

Make sure that you do a http://www.resellerratings.com search on the
website that you choose so that you buy from a decent website!

Either I didn't do a close read on the ASUS site or they are now, more
likely, describing this board without the card indicating Rev. 2 is without.
Wasn't aware it was ever included so that will be a red flag for me. Thanks.

Thanks.

It doesn't automatically come with the WiFi card now.
