My disk drive has stopped working. It won't operate with
any disk that I put in. I've done a system restore before
and it would work for while and then quit again. I don't
want to mess my entire system up. Any advice you can give
would be very helpful.

This is your CD-Reader / Writer - yes?

They do fail, not a 100 year warranty with them, only 12 months in most
cases. That's why they are so cheap.

Go and buy a new one.

I agree with BAR, in our modern day disposable society
just chuck the broken bits away and get some new ones!

Just remember - Your little baby is ONLY A COMPUTER!
