operating windows Xp proff....i am continually crashing
when i restart the error message is error caused by
device driver but cannot specify exactly the problem....i
went onto my pcs website & downloaded the driver
specified there......this seemed to solve the problem
initially but it started again after a while...i used the
role back driver feature to revert back to the microsoft
driver & again this seemed to solve the problme initially
but after a while it started again......i seem to get at
least 5 crashes a day due to this problem ...anybody any
ideas how to rectify?????

How can we help without knowing what peice of hardware is causing the
problem? How do you change drivers for a device if you don't know which
device it is? My solution is to backup your data, format the hard
drive, install Windows, then install all of your drivers clean. Use
Everest Home from www.lavalys.com to find out what hardware you have and
where to find the drivers. Also, open your case and clean out the dust.
While you are at it, check and see how hot it is in there when the
computer is running and make sure it isn't overheating.

it would appear the device is the graphics display
driver...at least that is the message from the microsoft
online crash analysis report..unfortunately i cant access
microsoft updates ..it says my product key is not valid
thats why i went onto the website of my laptop
manufacturer to try & update the driver.....any ideas?

You cannot continue without Service Pack and critical updates, therefore you
need MS license.
