Can i stop my windows shutting down .after i press the shutdown button

Solution
Hello shenan93;
Yes you can. There is an abort switch in the shutdown.exe command.
If your fast enough you can open a cmd window and type in: shutdown.exe /a

You'd be better off making a new desktop shortcut with that same command.
If you want to look at all the available switches for the shutdown command,
type cmd into the Start Menu search bar. In the CMD window just type shutdown and return and you'll get the shutdown help file.

If you click shutdown and you are fast enough you can push the escape key a couple times and Window 7 Ultimate will stop shutting down, don't know if it is on all Windows 7. Works for me.

It seems that shutdown /a only works during the timeout delay. Once the shut-down starts, running shutdown /a gives the error shutdown.exe failed to start because the system is shutting down. How do I abort the shut down after the shut-down starts?
