Watch out for the 1021 beta bios for the P4P800. I tried it last night and
it crashed my system. If it weren't for the BIOS recovery setup, I would be
singing the blues today. Bad CRC Checksum. Then it failed on windows
startup, then on reboot the computer was a paperweight. Turning it off
activated the BIOS recovery using the original 1006 bios on the p4p800
system cd. Then I downloaded the 1019 bios and installed it. Everything
works now. Truthfully, I don't know exactly what went wrong- bad download or
something else. This was the first time I have had a problem even from a
beta bios. BTW, does anyone who has successfully loaded this bios into their
system know what has been improved in it?

Do you mean P4ced21.zip at
http://www.asus.com.tw/support/dow [...] E%20Deluxe ?
It doesn't say anything about beta there unless I am missing something...?
How did you install it - there are some important notes about installation
in the readme/.

This BIOS is designed for P4C800e-Deluxe, not for P4P800...
Greysky, what was the exact filename you downloaded ?

The latest bios drivers for his board are 1019, Like he said in his post it
must be beta drivers from somewhere that he has installed, for some reason.
Why anyone would install beta drivers on their mobo, when they don't even
know what the purpose of the update is, well, it's not something I would do

Try to update the update utility to the newest version 6XXXXX. With older
versions there can be problems.
Note that your system don't is overclocking during the bios flashing.
My P4C800 e-Deluxe ist running very well with this 1021 bios.
Good luck

It`s the final now, was available as "beta" some weeks ago. In the end
the board performs some points better (nothing to go for,
ctiaw,everest,...). It`s stable, nothing to worry about.
