I am currently running a Barton 2500+ overclocked to 3200+ on a Asus A7N8X.
Two years now and no problems.
I am in need of another pc in the house so naturally I want to upgrade mine.
What kind of overclocking can I expect on a Athlon 64 2800+ with a Asus K8N
board ?
I plan to reuse my 2X512 meg Corsair 3200 LLPT ram chips but I will
eventually want to upgrade those too.
Is the CPU multiplier locked at a certain level on this chip or can I change
the FSB and multiplier too.
Should I be looking for a specific code of processor ?
What kind of speeds are you getting with this rig ?

TIA,

Big Red

FWIW all Athlon 64's have the lower (then default) multipliers unlocked,
it's part of how AMD's Cool n Quite works, so it's up to the mobo BIOS,
download the manual, google for a review?

Personally haven't looked for any such specifics, seems the best OCs are
on 90nm Winchesters chips. There may be some things you need to know
about OCing the boards/chips, heres just one such article....
