Those are XP updates to fix certain problems that have been reported.
You must have "automatic updates" turned on or you would have had to manually go
to the update website and download these updates.
When you have internet explorer open click tools at the top then click windows
update, this takes you to the XP update site where by now SP2 should be
available.By installing SP2(follow the instructions carefully) all those KB's
will disappear and be replaced by a single entry.
Be sure to read the installation notes available on the website before you
install SP2

These are the updates that have been downloaded to your computer from
Microsoft. The contain patches and security fixes to make Windows more
secure and hopefully perform better.
If you have not intentionally downloaded and installed them, you have
automatic updates turned on. You will get a much larger one in the future
(SP2.)

We were all new to computers at one time or another and most are still
learning. These newsgroups are a great source of information and you might
want to make them a regular stop on a daily basis if possible and look over
the new posts and replies. I have been doing that for several years and
found it extremely helpful. Many IT professionals and MVPs provide help to
those of us who need it. Don't be put off by the occasional bad tempered
individual, it is probably just a bad day for them. You've done the right
thing by coming here.

So 'new' you don't know how to use a search engine?! I highly doubt it.
Suggest you learn how to search - this question is an FAQ and asked at least
three or four times a day. If you're too lazy to search, then I'm too lazy
to assist you.

This group is for those who first help themselves. If you search, and you
don't find anything, then you post. Because you're asking this question, I
know damned well you haven't done anything to help yourself. This has
nothing whatsoever to do with being "new to computers" it's due to sheer
laziness.
