I have 1 HDD and CDROM connect to 1 port of IT8212 as IDE (not RAID). At
boot up, the IT8212 detected 2 drives very quickly but then paused for a
long time (10 seconds maybe) then started to boot windows. Why does the
board pause there? Any suggestion? Again, I am not using RAID at all.

Thanks!

In the BIOS there's an option to specify how much time you want the
controller to have in detecting devices. I can't remember where it is
but the help text will caution you that if you make it too short, some
devices may not be detected. Since you already know your two devices
are detected quickly, you should be able to shorten that time without
any problems.

I did it on my P5GDC-V and it works fine.

Yes, I tried to set the time to 0 or 5 in Main->IDE Configuration. It still
paused a long time ~15seconds.
BTW, that setting is for SATA ports not for IT8212.
Any more suggestion?
