Can data from a NTFS formatted drive with a bad block be recovered? The
drive doesn't appear under win explorer or unable to run chkdsk, or doesn't
show up in Disk Management. Are there any utilities out there that can help?
Thanks in advance for ideas.

- Boot with a Win98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com - Run ntfsdos.exe from www.sysinternals.com - Copy your files to a temporary slave disk (FAT32)
- Treat the incident as an unpleasant reminder that all
important files must be backed up every week to an
independent medium.
