Since updating Windows XP driver my laptop cannot go into
standby mode and error message states that it is due to
the Microsoft PS/2 Intellitype Pro Keyboard driver (ver
5.0.174.0)

any suggestions?

You mean you installed IntelliType Version 5.2 Software? If you
haven't, try it:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/Download.mspx

I am experiancing the same problem. I have the wireless desktop elite with up
to date drivers. If I try to go to standby I also receive "device driver
standard 101/102-key board or microsoft natural ps/2 keyboard device is
preventing machine from entering standby close applications or update drivers.

I am still trying to find out a resolution on the forums. It is a shame that
microsoft will only allow two E-mail support questions, would you buy a new
car with only two visits allowed to the repair shop?
