Umm, not sure what the beginning part is all about, but it often does
show up as a default monitor. You may want to check the support CD's
that came with your laptop for specific drivers, but that most likely
isn't what is causing the problems for you.
When the video isn't displayed properly, this is almost always the fault
of the drivers for the video card. You should install the latest
drivers for your video card. If you have an nVidia or ATI video card,
head over to www.omegadrivers.net and download and isntall the latest
drivers for the corresponding card. If you don't know what video card
you have, go to www.lavalys.com and download Everest Home (free).
Install and run it and it will tell you what video card you have and
even offer a link to the drivers (but may not be as up-to-date or work
since laptop drivers are harder to find and desktop version drivers are
not compatible in most cases).
