Have you installed the drivers for your FireWire Controller? This may
be included in your chipset drivers (if the FireWire is on the
motherboard and not a PCI Card). If this is the case, download your
latest motherbaord drivers and install them. If you need help finding
out what motherboard you have, go to www.lavalys.com and get Everest
Home (free). Use this program to find out what you have and it will
link you to the drivers
