Hey all!
I recently purchased a Flatron 915FT Plus monitor (19" ), and I am very pleased with it. Before it, I had tried two other monitors, both NEC models. One was an aperature grille, and the lines drove me nuts. It also seemed to turn off at random intervals. The other was another NEC with no damper wires this time (shadow mask). It was pretty good, though it had a dead pixel (always red), so I returned it too. Also, they claimed it had a flat screen, and while this is true, only the outside was flat - the inside was like a regular CRT (think a regular pane of glass over the front of a regular rounded monitor). Anyhow, I am very pleased with this Flatron. No damper wires, as bright as an aperature grille (though it's shadow mask), nifty controls, and higher refresh rate than the other's. It's also completely flat. So far I haven't had any problems with it! Hope this helps people considering a 19". The only things to keep in mind is it takes up a little more space than the other 19" monitors I tried, and it is slightly heavier.
