Hi

I am trying to set-up the above board but am having problems.

The set-up is: P4 3GHz, 2xSamsung 400MHz 512Mb DDR2 Ram, DVD ROM as
primary drive & DVD writer as secondary on the primary IDE1 connector,
a Maxtor IDE hard drive on the primary raid1 connector, no floppy
(disabled).

The problem is that the hard drive is not recognised in BIOS. If I swap
the drives round the Maxtor IS recognised on the Pri IDE1 but the DVD
ROM/DVD writer are NOT recognised in either of the two IDE raid
connectors.

As the machine is POST'ing a screen is displayed (very briefly) that
says 'Detecting IDE Devices' during this process I can see that all of
the drives connected to any socket has been recognised but when the
main BIOS screen is displayed the drives on the IDE raid connectors are
not shown. I have tried a combination of settings but I can't get any
IDE drive to be recognised in either of the IDE raid connectors.

The board also takes an age to go through the POST process. I have also
re-set the BIOS with no success.

Have I got a faulty board?

Martyn
