I would like to setup a Raid configuration on my new computer. This is what
i got so far:
2 x WD Caviar 80 GB SATA drives
2 x Kingston 512 MB PC3200 RAM
ABIT FX 5600 video card
LITEON CDRW
Thermaltake 420W Power supply
INTEL P4 3.0Ghz HT CPU
Creative Audigy2 ZS sound card
ASUS P4P800-VM motherboard -----------which doesn't support RAID
I am not a gamer and use computer to do ordinary stuff , very little video
editing etc.
My main reason to go with RAID is hope that it will help me with faster
crunchingof work units for
SETIATHOME . I do not have any expirience with RAID and could use some help
with
setting that up. (Any web sites with RAID for dummies?)
I have looked at both of above mentioned mobos and like them - but if there
is any advantage to
one over other I'd like to know.
Thank You .
