29th July 2004: "Finally ending months of speculation, Valve's Doug Lombardi seems to have confirmed that the most eagerly awaited PC title of this, or indeed any other year, is finally done.
According to Lombardi, Half-Life 2 will be passed on to publishers Vivendi "within days" for final mastering and duplication, well within Valve's target August delivery date - he has added that the game will hit retail mid- to late September."
I'll believe it when I see it, but that's what the news is saying today.
Good, I'm glad, because we need more than just Doom to really push PC gaming back into the forefront. I think the finished version of HL2 is going to be stellar.
Well amazon just posts what they are told. The US store has september 1st. Remeber this is the same amazon that posted the release date as september 30 2003.
