S-Presso Bios

Hi,

A S-Presso barebone with a P4P8T board.
Bios version 1004.004

On the Asus website is bios v.1006 and on the German Asus FTP 1007.
But when trying to flash, the software (Asus Updater) states that these
are no bioses for this board. It also says that these bioses are
for the board P4P8TSP.
Does anyone know where I can find a newer bios for my S-Presso?

If you look at the support.asus.com.tw download page, and use
the menus on the right, you'll see the BIOS files and their
very brief release notes. On 1006 it says:

"Fix PRODUCT ID to solve ASUSupdate tool issue"

and that tells you they know they blew the naming
convention when doing these BIOS.

The thing is, the flashing tools are supposed to check
that the current BIOS name string matches the name strings
in the new BIOS file. If you look at the 1003 and the 1006
BIOS files with a hex editor, you can see there is a slight
difference between them.

Try one of the other flashing options, and see if that works
instead. I'm not really sure which option can bypass the
name check.

Thank you very much for your answer.
So, they 'blew the naming convention'.
At this moment I can't think of another way of flashing the bios.
I think the name check will interfere constantly.
Maybe if they release another Updater, which skips this check, it could
be done?!?
They must come up with a solution sooner or later, I think.
