USB Issues with XP (USB Fails to Function)

Here is the thread that has been tried so far...can
anybody help get this *(^% thing to use the USB ports
under XP??!!??

Thanks for the link to the lastest drivers, installed
them and .....nada....

It now sees that there is a PDA on the system, but it
tells me the device has malfunctioned...same with the USB
KB or my Canon camera....yikes..

All of the above currently work on this machine under
either W98 or Linux....just not XP.

Whoops, sorry I left you hanging down there :)

Have you tried removing the USB Controllers from Device Manager
(Start-Run-Devmgmt.msc) and rebooting? If that doesn't work, and new
drivers don't work, I would consider backing up all of your data and
doing a clean install of XP.

Yeppers, that was the first thing that I did when the
issue first presented, and again after install SP2...so
clean install it is...sigh....
