Does anyone else find this board very slow to get past the POST stage?

Mine takes ages while it appears to be searching for USB devices and IDE
devices etc and was wondering if this is normal or if it can be made to
hurry up!

Thanks,
Stew

I got one and it doesn't seem out of the ordinary. Least compared to 2
p4c800-e premiums I have. What cpu are you running on yours? What temps
are you getting?

I'm comparing to an old gigabyte board with athlon xp 1500+ processor. My
CPU is a 3gig 830 pentium dual core and the temp is around 55 degrees C idle
and 60 under load.

Hello Stew. I have the very same issue with both my P5WD2 and my P5LD2.
Both take approximately 2 minutes from the splash screen to where the
boot process continues on to Windows.

I have Corsair Value Select memory in both boards.

Perhaps I should try that new Gigabyte Royal!

Stew, try changing the IDE time out from the default of 35 seconds to
0 seconds and see if that helps.

Hi,

I fixed this by removing the power supply fan connector from the
motherboard. Its only used for speed monitoring on my power supply so the
fan still goes.

Dont know why it works but it does, must be a bios error (I'm using 0422)

Cheers,
Stew
