Windows 8 lag on full screen

Hello, I have an Asus Eee PC 1215n, and I decided to upgrade to Windows 8. I thought it wouldn't run as good as Windows 7, but I found out I was wrong as soon as I started using it. Much more fluid and faster overall. However I found that when I'm playing a game, no matter how not taxing it is, it always lags terribly when I'm in fullscreen. Running in windowed mode solves the problem. For example GTA2 lags horribly in fullscreen, in windowed its normal. I'd say its a driver problem, but I can playback 720p content without any problem, so what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance
