I am providing long distance support to a friend with an A8N-SLI Deluxe
using the SlI3114 controller with a RAID 1 (mirrored) disk set. Just
recently the system locked up and had to be rebooted via the reset button.
When the system came back up the SLI manager reported that the set was
"Capacity Reduced". I can find no documentation to tell just what that
means. The BIOS utility reports the array as "Healthy". Can someone provide
some insight as to what is happening?

Thanks,

David

The "SLI manager?"
What problems is he having? Does the system boot?

By "SLI manager" I mean the SATARaid Management Utility for the SLI3114.

The system doesn't reboot. He was transferring files from a Zip drive to the
RAID array when the system suddenly locked up. He had to do a hard reset to
restore the system. After it came back up the SATARaid Management Utility
reported "Capacity Reduced". Today he tells me that on a subsequent cold
boot the management utility reports that everything is just fine. This same
thing happened once before. He is running the drivers supplied by ASUS. Is a
driver upgrade advised?
