I run FarCry at max settings and it doesnt stutter at all. I'm running a P4 2.8, 1gb PC2700, and a 9700 Pro....

...I think you're all set. Run it at max.

Max settings on that rig and it doesn't studder at all? How are you managing that? What resolution do you play at?

My system is about equal to yours and I had it set to 1024x768 med/high settings to keep it smooth.

ABIT IS7, P4 2.6C, 1GB Corsair XMS 4000 Pro Series, Radeon 9800 Pro, Santa Cruz, TruePower 430watt

Yeah, well i run FarCry at low settings at 600x800res with mild to moderate skipping.
now that we are done rubbing my nose in my shameful mess of a computer....
I dont know the cost of your computer but doesn't AMD 64 offer superior gaming? and with more generic RAM and an AMD 64 you could afford a 6800GT, which would provide a MASSIVE increase in performance.
with a A64 3200+ and a 6800GT you can go Max settings on almost all res.
But maybe you do a lot of video editing or something that would require a P4 and gaming is a smaller part of you're computer.
I love AMD, i tolerate Intel. When push comes to shove, i would go with the proven leader in games...the A64.

AMD 64's do offer alot better gaming...farcry runs great on my computer (check below for layout). And yeah man, ur just showin' off...:p...that setup is nice though, only change i would do is add an equally priced AMD 64

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
ASUS K8V SE Deluxe
512 MB Kingston PC3500
Sapphire ATI R9800 Pro 128 MB
80 GB Seagate ATA133
80 GB Hitachi SATA

I have no issues at all in FarCry at high settings. I am having back-outs in Doom III that I need to figure out.
