Turns out as soon as you install a real AGP card, it automagically
deactivates the on-board video and frees up the shared memory.

It'll disable itself automatically and free up all the memory available
as system memory. So if you have a 512Mb stick sharing 64Mb now, it'll
come up as 448Mb. Stick an AGP card in, the full 512Mb becomes
available to Windows.
