Printer offline-Windows 7

My HP 1310 printer has gone offline. How can I put it back on line. (properties doesn't have that option.

is it a network printer, local printer (connected via usb)

Without waiting for an answer to the connection:

1. Unhook printer
2. reboot PC
3. Hook up printer

You could also remove and reinstall the software. Make sure it's the latest software and that it supports your version of Windows (most issues are lack of 64-bit support).

Thank you, That sorts out how to get it back online. Have you any help on how to stop the printer going offline?
