Hey you Halo qurus........
I start a halo server on my pc. It can be connected to by specifying
the wan ip but it will not show in the server list.
Any thoughts?

I presume you are referring to the filters shown in the internet lobby.
Empty Servers: Yes
Full Servers: Yes
Ping: Any
Gametype: Any
Teamplay options: Any

Thinking about what you suggested, I suspect these filters are for the
clients use not the server.
Again, it can be connected to by specifying the wan ip address.

Yea, sorry I read wrong. Make sure those trying to connect check theirs.

I had the same problem when I started a server. My brother could connect
direct but didn't see it. He finally was able to see it by clicking on
the top of left most column. The one with the little server icons. It
changes the viewable servers somehow, I can't remember exactly.

Well, I wonder how to tell those looking at the list on their
system to click on the left columns, considering I would have
no idea who is seeing the list. I am not trying to be a smartass
but their must be an easier way to correct the problem....maybe
something that I am overlooking.

How do you know they can't see it then?

I'll check with my bro later and see if he remembers what we did.

Actually it's the second column from the left. Clicking the server icon
will toggle between all and dedicated servers.

GameSpy server lists?

You are either running a modded executeable (like the no-cd crack) or
thought to be cheating. You have to run the stock executeable.

Maps now, that's different.

Make sure you're allowing TCP as well as UDP ont 2302 or whatevere port
you've chose for your server, gamespy seems to use that even though the game
itself doesn't.

Call up ur ISP and see if they are blocking the ports.

Just to make sure they know what they are doing, tell them you want to know if they are blocking a game from working, if they ask you what ports the game uses, your in luck, if they don't, or try and ask you to see if you can go to google, then they are just telling you what you want to hear.

Also, call up microsoft and ask them what ports you need to enable for the game.
