Are you inserting a floppy disk with the drivers for your SATA
controller? I had a similar problem which was caused by the floppy
disk with the drivers on becoming corrupted between me creating it on
one machine carrying it across the room and shoving it in a floppy
drive. Creating a new floppy with the drivers on fixed it for me.

Also you could check that your SATA controller is enabled in BIOS.
