I have installed a Sweex PCI usb2 hub and it is showing
up in hardware as standard enhanced PCI to USB host
controller or it could be via rev 5 or later usb
universal host controller. I'm not sure which one. I just
want to know if the right drivers have been loaded so it
works at the correct speed for usb2 or do I need to
update the driver to obtain full functionality?

The via one will more than likely be the one built into your
motherboard

The key here is the word "enhanced" in unfriendly computer speak when
referring to USB "enhanced" means USB2. Of course some actually say
USB2 to be more helpful. But don't worry I'd bet my last good registry
backup that it's running at the correct speed.
