This is something that is really annoying me. I have a 40GB in a USB HDD
Case and my system won't recognise it, i know i have to format the drive
or something along those lines, can anyone tell me how to do this on
XP??

Start>Control Panel.>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk
Management, select the drive then click Action>All Tasks>Format.
